Extra virgin margarine with coconut, olive and red palm oils
Most margarines are made of palm oil. The carotenes in the palm tree fruit make them red. So why do you never find red margarine? Because margarines contain refined palm oil. Many nutrients, including carotenes, sterols and vitamin E, are refined out of the oil and sold as supplements.
Margarine was created in 1869 in a laboratory and was originally intended to fatten up animals. At first the fattened turkeys died, and later the animal fats were replaced with vegetable ones, and it was discovered how they could be hardened. Partially hydrogenated (hardened) fats become trans fats. At that time margarine was known as 'artificial butter' and was white in color. During World War I butter became scarce and margarine was all the rage for human consumption.

What is 3 times healthier than extra virgin coconut oil?

For frying or as a spread Cocos+Olive+Red Palm is 3 times healthier than coconut oil alone

‘In 2005 Amanprana was the first company to introduce its legendary 100% extra virgin coconut oil to Europe,’ says Bart Maes, founder of Amanprana. ‘And today the health benefits of extra virgin coconut oil are widely known and accepted. But in the meantime Amanprana has refined its knowledge, and a decade later we now know that Amanprana’s Cocos+Olive+Red Palm extra virgin oil melange is three times healthier for cooking and as a spread.

Cocos+Olive+Red Palm gives you the best of three worlds

Cold pressed coconut oil from Sri Lanka, extra virgin olive oil from Spain and unrefined sustainable red palm oil from Colombia. I ditched my organic margarine five years ago, and since then have used Cocos-Olive+Palm on my bread. It’s so much tastier, so much healthier. I like to vary, and by using this blend I combine all that is good in coconut, olive and red palm oils. And of course Amanprana is extra virgin, so unrefined, something I cannot say about any margarine. Beatrix van Bloemendaal, nurse Rotterdam, Netherlands
