Got canker sores? What is a mouth ulcer and how do you get rid of it?
A canker sore (aphthous stomatitis) is a small round or oval and white, yellow or greyish yellow sore that forms on the mucous membranes of your mouth. They can appear on the insides of your lips and cheeks, on your tongue, on the floor of your mouth, on your gums or sometimes even on your palate. They feel burning and tend to recur. The specific cause of canker sores has not yet been discovered, but they can result from a mouth wound, quitting smoking, pressure and stress, oversensitivity to certain foods and hormonal changes.
Once canker sores appear, it is recommended that you frequently apply ointments that have a local antimicrobial, analgesic or anti-inflammatory effect, but unfortunately these substances are not always completely natural and consequently are not always healthy either.
