Amanprana Red Palm Oil provides community support
Our palm oil partially sourced from small cooperatives that have converted to organic and sustainable agriculture since 2001; these 130 families believe it is the best way to care for their soil and their relatives living within production areas. These organized alliances symbolise the peace in Colombia and focus on respect and the support of local economies.
Amanprana’s environmental responsibility’s
Our red palm oil is certified 100% organic and contains zero pesticides or any other junk. Amanprana red palm oil is 100% natural – unrefined, not deodorised, unbleached and non – GMO certified. For the past X years Amanprana has partnered with the ProAves NGO in Colombia in order to donate a tree per every litre of product sold since it is in our interest to generate a positive impact in the regions we constantly source from.
Traceability ad transparency of the Amanprana Red Palm Oil
Our products are not only certified in origin but also segregated within the supply chain, this allows us to track the product back to the farm on an Identity Preserved (IP) basis. Moreover, our product complies with the guidelines and verification protocols that the Palm Oil Innovation Group (POIG) has set for producing companies; on which WWF, Greenpeace, Forest People Programme and Rainforest Action Network partner to generate awareness in responsible production and corporate responsibility.

What does the RSPO do? Which criteria exist for palm oil producers?
RSPO is all about sustainable palm oil. The RSPO has created specific criteria for its members, and if the producers respect these criteria we can stop the negative impact that palm oil has had on cultivation, the environment and the community. The RSPO has created specific criteria for its certified producers in order to stop the negative impact that palm oil may have had on its cultivation, the environment and local community; it sets clear guidelines if compensation to any stakeholder is required.
In some regions the cultivation of palm oil causes deforestation, which leads to the biodiversity being jeopardised. Primary forest is cleared so that the land can be used for palm oil plantations. In some cases the local communities are not even consulted about the use of their land. There have even been instances of people forcibly displaced from their own land, a major violation. The RSPO also has conditions in place for fair payment and safe working conditions.
An increasing number of players in the palm oil industry, including red palm oil, are working together to make the industry more sustainable. Stopping palm oil consumption is no solution, as other oils – both vegetable and other types – have the same impact on the environment, and are sometimes even worse. Besides, palm oil has a number of unique and beneficial properties.
The environment is important to the RSPO and Amanprana
Aside from the economic and work-related criteria, the RSPO is also active in fighting for the environment. The organisation has a set of criteria that companies must comply with and that are intended to minimise the negative impact of palm oil. Amanprana shares this ambition, and so the solutions we propose must always be long-term and, above all, have as little affect upon the environment as possible.
