Amanprana Matcha "Kotobuki" tea is produced from the whole youngest and finest leaves of the Camellia sinensis from Japan.
Amanprana Earl Grey "Kotobuki" tea is produced of Darjeeling from the first picking and Assam from the first picking from India
With the imperial 'Kotobuki' tea you drink the entire leaf for more ORAC
Amanprana has based its imperial 'Kotobuki' teas on the unique traditional Japanese production of Matcha. Just like Zen Buddhists were already doing centuries ago. We have created 3 imperial 'Kotobuki' teas: Matcha, Rooibos and Earl Grey. Amanprana 'Kotobuki' tea is produced from the whole youngest and finest leaves of the Camellia sinensis from Japan (Matcha), the Aspalathus linearis from South Africa (Rooibos), Darjeeling from the first picking and Assam from the first picking from India (Earl Grey). The veins are expertly removed and the leaf is slowly ground on the granite mills to an ultrafine tea powder. This is done at only 40g per hour, maintaining quality, taste and nutrients.
137 times more EGCG catechins in Kotobuki Matcha than in green tea
With modern green, Earl Grey or Rooibos tea 85% of nutrients stay in the tea bag. With Amanprana's traditional 'Kotobuki' teas you drink the whole leaf, as it were. This makes the imperial 'Kotobuki' tea many times healthier than other tea. You are drinking a multiple of the nutrients and you are drinking the whole (holistic consumption). For instance, Kotobuki Matcha contains 137 times more EGCG catechins than green tea. As we also strive for the highest quality, the taste is sublime. Top.
Kotobuki for quality, taste and nutritional value
Kotobuki means 'long life' in Japanese. Amanprana has deliberately chosen the best possible relation between quality/taste/nutritional value. 'Let food be your medicine and let medicine be your food' – Amanprana feels very strongly about this saying by Hippocrates. The ground leaves of Matcha, Rooibos and Earl Grey are superior foods. The antioxidant level, expressed in ORAC, is exceptionally high. Polyphenols (which include catechins) make up the largest group of protective substances in our food. Catechins are present abundantly in Kotobuki tea... In addition, the imperial 'Kotobuki' tea contains carotenes, vitamin E, fibre, minerals, tannins, 15 to 17 types of protein (including all essential proteins), and much more... and this reflects in the taste.
With green or black tea (left) you drink 10 to 15% water-soluble nutrients. The rest is thrown away. With Kotobuki tea (right) you drink 100% of the nutrients, namely the full 35% water-soluble and the full 65% non-water-soluble nutrients. You drink the entire leaf.
Kotobuki Matcha, Kotobuki Earl Grey and Kotobuki Rooibos without caffeine
Kotobuki Matcha and Kotobuki Earl Grey contain a combination of L-theanine and caffeine. This combination results in alertness and focus, without a feeling of restlessness. Caffeine in tea, also called theine, releases its 'booster' slowly. Kotobuki Rooibos also contains L-theanine, but very little caffeine. In summary: alertness without caffeine.
