Hello, nice of you to come and take glance at my recipe review. Here, I have made a fine selection of recipes and chefs. Amanprana and/or I has/have a special bond with each of them. We, for example, have cooked together and have the same vision of eating. Healthy, tasty and refreshing meals without fuss. Tasty meals to be healthy and happy. Ayurvedic cuisine, macrobiotics, raw food, vegan cooking and proper food combinations have inspired my recipes.
In the meantime, I have put together quite a few recipes. From appetizers to pancakes and from delicious snacks to smoothies. The emphasis is on pure and natural, without refined nutrients. Nutrition is your best medicine!
Paranoid people know that coconut oil is a saturated fat, and they're convinced that saturated fat is bad for you and will make you put on weight. This is not true.
Coconut oil is indeed a saturated fat, but there are two important facts that you have to bear in mind. The first is that real saturated fat - such as coconut oil - is not only healthy, but also needed by our bodies. And the second is that coconut oil has the unique quality of being a saturated fat that the body can very quickly turn into energy, which stimulates the metabolism. So unlike other fats, coconut oil is primarily not stored in the body as a fat, but instead is used.
Amanprana Coconut oil has a "FRESHER THAN FRESH GUARANTEE": Ripe coconuts are harvested, peeled, dried at a low temperature no higher than 45 °C / 113 ºF for 24 hours and then immediately pressed. *Maximum 48 hours between peeling and pressing.READ MORE
Coconut oil is healthy and even necessary for a healthy body and nutritious food. It has numerous beneficial properties, including its fungicidal qualities. Good for your gut, and for your food: among other things, it can extend the shelf life of food. It's also the most stable oil for high-heat cooking. You can even use it for deep-frying! It improves the absorption of nutrients and stabilises blood sugar levels.
What gives unrefined coconut oil these positive, beneficial qualities? Three little words: MCT fatty acids. Unrefined coconut oil contains around 75% medium-chain fatty acids. These are known as MCT fatty acids (Medium-Chain Triglycerides), and they stimulate your body to burn food faster. Because of these fatty acids, coconut oil is immediately converted into energy, and is therefore not stored as fat to be burned at a later date, when no other energy is available. And these fatty acids have the unique property that they also speed up the absorption and burning of other foods.
The health benefits of coconut oil are its most important qualities, but a nice extra advantage of this unique natural oil is its satiating effect. It stops you craving snacks, which is helpful when you're trying to keep your weight steady.
Not quite sure where to start with coconut oil? The good thing about coconut oil is that you can use it in all sorts of dishes and recipes - from breakfast to dessert. In smoothies, such as Rineke Dijkinga's strawberry & rhubarb smoothie, in cakes, soups, ice cream, dips, mayonnaise and oliebollen and you can also just eat it on its own by the teaspoonful.
What about the taste of coconut oil? You only taste the coconut flavour when you use Amanprana coconut oil cold, but it definitely isn't overwhelming. If you heat the coconut oil in a frying pan, wok, deep fryer or in the oven, you get a subtle flavour from which the coconut taste has disappeared. So it certainly isn't true that if you use coconut oil, each and every dish will taste like coconut. The flavour of coconut oil is surprisingly less dominant than that of other oils or butter.
The beneficial properties of coconut oil - such as the fact that unrefined coconut oil acts as a fungicide - also apply when you rub it on your skin. Click here to read more about topical use of coconut oil.
