Hello, nice of you to come and take glance at my recipe review. Here, I have made a fine selection of recipes and chefs. Amanprana and/or I has/have a special bond with each of them. We, for example, have cooked together and have the same vision of eating. Healthy, tasty and refreshing meals without fuss. Tasty meals to be healthy and happy. Ayurvedic cuisine, macrobiotics, raw food, vegan cooking and proper food combinations have inspired my recipes.

In the meantime, I have put together quite a few recipes. From appetizers to pancakes and from delicious snacks to smoothies. The emphasis is on pure and natural, without refined nutrients. Nutrition is your best medicine!

Sandra Maes is passionate about dancing, music and art. After training as a dancer in Tilburg she joined a professional dance group in Rotterdam, but the pressure proved too much, with irregular eating habits, irregular hours and an aggravated injury reaching a breaking point. Sandra was exhausted, felt ill and suffered from a range of disquieting symptoms. After much searching she was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2013, and because she did not want to take antibiotics she started to research the power found in nutrition - pure nature. That was when she discovered the magic of raw food, turned her lifestyle around and took her health into her own hands.

Sandra Maes's recipes primarily focus on raw food

Sandra went to the US to take a course as a Raw Food Chef, Instructor & Nutrition Coach, and when she returned she set up her own company: Hooked by Uncooked. She hosts workshops, readings, demonstrations, group demonstrations and private events. She believes it is important to show that small changes to your eating patterns can have a major and positive result. The outcome from investing in good food will astonish you, a great philosophy that Amanprana backs 100 percent.



A brief interview with raw food chef Sandra Maes

I started cooking healthy meals because:

I suffered from health issues that caused me to change my lifestyle. Creating is soooo much fun, and to me cooking equates to total relaxation.

My most exciting culinary adventure:

You let your feeling guide you - pull open the kitchen cupboard, whip up all the leftovers, and finally, serve up a totally delicious dish!

My biggest culinary failure and what I learnt from it:

Not daring to 'fail'. It is by abandoning that fear that you give space to your creativity.

Tips for the novice cook:

Make sure that you have all the basics - that your cupboards are always well-stocked. This makes it easier when you're short of time and have to prepare a healthy meal quickly.

What is indispensable in the kitchen:

I SWEAR by Amanprana's ORAC Botanico mix. The mixes are so easy to use and add that extra touch and flavour to your salads... simply delicious!

To me, the most important thing for living a healthy lifestyle is:

Eat no or very little processed food, and no animal products. Also, leafy greens must be a large part of your daily eating habits. 

How I would describe my inner chef:

Creative, full of passion, alive, high-energy

Aside from cooking, I also love to:

Yoga, travelling, sauna, nature, walking

My favourite dish:

I actually love everything, as long as it has been prepared in its pure form.

For special occasions I often make:
