The Tropics Best farm is located in Tecomán, Mexico. The coconut
trees on the farm grow in a fertile coastal valley enriched in minerals
from volcanic soils which wash down from neighboring mountains. Nearby
Colima Volcano is still very much active and is often seen spewing
out smoke and volcanic ash.
The farm is owned and operated by the Malcher Moreno families, who
have been dedicated to the coconut business for three generations.
Pesticides and chemical fertilizers have never been used on the farm.
They are not needed as the volcanic rich soils produce some of the
country’s best coconuts. In 2004 the farm obtained USDA Organic
Certification. All production and manufacturing takes place on the
farm in a certified organic facility. The entire production process
happens under one roof from the shelling of freshly harvested coconuts
to the labeling of the finished products.
